PHILAFRICA MANIOC COTE D’IVOIRE is an important player in the transformation of cassava into starch through a technology that allows cassava to be processed as soon as it is harvested, thus generating both regular and good quality products. Established in 2017, PAMCI is currently the only producer of cassava starch (or flour) in Côte d’Ivoire. We currently service the sausage industry, textile industry as well as fast-moving consumer goods manufacturers with an ever-expanding clientele.
Cassava is the largest crop produced in Africa (by weight), with 178 million tonnes produced annually and increasing at an annualized rate of 4.2% over the past 10 years; however, the majority of the harvest is processed informally in rural communities.
Our site sources its supplies from more than 5,000 small farmers. Therefore the company has a direct social impact that is both financially viable and substantial. In addition, our strategy is to work closely with the farmers to help them become more efficient, use good practices to obtain better yields, which will ultimately improve the cassava industry in Côte d’Ivoire as a whole.
